Return of the Jedi

ReturnoftheJedi

It has been awhile hasn’t it?  Where are on earth have you been?  Why don’t you blog anymore?  I keep getting asked these questions seven years after I last posted on this site.  Good questions for sure, but the important thing is that it’s back.

This is how this is going to work.  Roughly each week, Kendall and I are going to blog about our experience drinking craft beer.  Very rarely will “billion dollar beers” be reviewed here.  That doesn’t mean we won’t still drink them, quite the contrary.  We will and we may even tell you about it.  But this blog and the ratings will be focused on craft beer.

I got into craft beer about a year ago.  It was my birthday and Kendall and I were heading home from work (That’s Right. We Carpool. In a hybrid. #crunchy) and I said I wanted to check out the Vino Garage.  For the non-Columbia readers, the Vino Garage is a craft beer and wine store off of North Main Street right near our house and it is AWESOME.  Doug, the owner, does a great job of listening to what you like and recommending new beers to taste.  That’s where we bought our first “mix pack” of six different crafts (hence the new blog name Pick Six).  I couldn’t tell you what we put in there, but we were hooked after that.  Ever since then we have been talking about the blog and now we’re finally doing something about it!

So what do we like?  I am a fan of lighter beers myself as I like to drink under the sun.  Lagers, Pilsners, and Hefeweizens, are my typical selections, although I am beginning to enjoy certain IPAs and Pale Ales.  Kendall, on the other hand, loves the hoppier stuff.  She enjoys the lighter beers too, but she is a big fan of IPAs.

WE 4.24.26

Alright, what are we drinking this week?  Above you see the first mix pack of the new era!  Here is what is in it:
1.  Brewery 85 Quittin’ Time Helles Bock
2.  Brewery 85 Southern Styel American Pale Ale
3.  Foothills Torch Pilsner
4.  Victory Golden Monkey
5.  Highland Saw-Whet Saison
6.  Left Hand Brewing Introvert Session IPA

It’s an early Sunday evening so I think it’s time for a beer.  We will update the blog as regularly as we can, but no promises on specific days/weeks.  If you have had one of these before, tell us!  Now, I think that Session IPA is calling my name…..

Cheers,
Franklin
