Judgement: Rolling Rock

Mrs. Beer and I made it to dinner and a movie last night. First off I want to say that Transformers was pretty awesome. The special effects made it easier to watch and understand what was going on when the robots were fighting. It’s obviously set up for a third movie, so we’ll be looking forward to it.

We went to Bonefish afterwards (Bang Bang Shrimp is excellent). Shockingly enough, they didn’t have Rolling Rock (see beer list):

Rolling Rock 002

So I was stuck with a mojito for the night, which was moderately decent, and was able to come home to a cold Rolling Rock.

After a week of nothing but Rolling Rock as beer, I found it a nice, refreshing change. I was surprised that so few bars and restaurants carry it and shall investigate that further.  My best guess is that it could be because it doesn’t really pair well with many foods. It’s a beer you want after mowing the lawn on a hot day, or after you finished moving and you just want to sit down and enjoy a cold beverage. That being said, I’m not sure it’s worth the price you pay for it.  There are plenty of better options at around the same price and unless you just really want a Rolling Rock, I would reccomend something else.  From my perspective, I would say Rolling Rock is a nice change of pace beer.

  1. Bear Beer remembers buying Rolling Rock for Mr. Beer at certain times in the past and we both enjoyed the clean crisp taste. Ma’Mam beer also enjoyed the green bottle. She thought it matched her curtains and one chair in the living room. Good reasearch and keep up the good work.

  2. Haven’t had one in a few years but always loved Rolling Rock. I agree with your written analysis but would give a slightly higher overall rating.
